Child Rushed To Hospital In Critical Condition After Being Rescued From Elevator Shaft

ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – A child was rushed to a hospital after being found stuck between floors in an elevator shaft in St. Petersburg Monday.

According to officials, at approximately 7:30 pm on Monday, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to a child stuck in an elevator in the 800 block of Brightwaters BL NE.

Crews found a child stuck between floors in an elevator shaft at the residence.

Technical rescue personnel responded and removed part of the ceiling to extricate the child and paramedics immediately transported the victim to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, and the child remains in critical condition Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, police said the incident appears to be accidental and foul play is not suspected.
