PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Chasco Elementary and Middle Schools were temporarily placed on a controlled campus status earlier today as a precautionary measure following a report of a suspicious person in the vicinity.
Pasco deputies responded to the area and increased their presence around the schools. Authorities have confirmed that there is no direct threat to either Chasco Elementary or Middle School at this time.

A controlled campus status typically limits access to the school grounds and may involve increased monitoring of students and visitors. The schools likely implemented this measure to ensure the safety of students and staff while the situation was assessed.
It is expected that the controlled campus status will be lifted shortly. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
