HERNANDO COUNTY, FL. – A young Florida girl and her family, are showing their appreciation to law enforcement agencies around the State of Florida.
On Wednesday, Emma stopped by Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to do just that.
“Emma and her family from Charlotte County stopped by the HCSO District 2 office in Spring Hill on Wednesday to drop off a special gift,” said HCSO in a statement.
Since July of 2020, Emma has been visiting law enforcement agencies throughout Florida to present law enforcement officers with handmade wooden Thin Blue Line flags to show her family’s support of law enforcement.
“It’s truly a family affair as Emma’s father carves the wood for the flag and her mother sands and paints them. Emma then devises a plan to distribute the flags across the state to ensure no county is missed,” said HCSO.
To date, Emma and her family distributed nearly 670 flags to more than 32 counties in Florida, according to HCSO.
On Wednesday, Emma gave flags to Lt. R. Howard, Sgt. M. Spooner, Sgt. D. Origon, Sgt. L. Johnson, and Deputy J. Schneider.
“The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Emma and her family for their generous donation and their support of law enforcement,” said HCSO.
