CBS News appears to have quietly edited Vice President Kamala Harris’ response to a question about the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in their online footage of a “60 Minutes” interview, released after the episode’s live airing.

Following Republican backlash over Harris not addressing issues like her inconsistency on left-wing policies, her campaign released a full schedule of media appearances for the week on Sunday, including an appearance on “60 Minutes.” Harris’ full interview with “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker was released Monday, but in a clip posted online Sunday, the vice president gave a muddled response to a question about her stance on the war.

“But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening,” Whitaker asked in a clip released early on X.

“Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region,” Harris responded.

Within an uploaded version on YouTube, Harris’ response to Whitaker was cut down, appearing as a more concise answer on the issue to the same question the host asked about the Israeli prime minister.

“We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end,” Harris said in the edited footage.

Harris has been known for giving word salad responses in interviews, with political pundits on both sides warning it could hurt her campaign. In a Sept. 13 interview with 6ABC Philadelphia’s “Action News,” Harris struggled to explain how she plans to make life more affordable, instead discussing her middle-class upbringing and lawns.

The Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign has been criticized for editing various outlets’ headlines from major news organizations in their sponsored ads in Americans’ Google searches, making it appear as internet search results. Nearly a dozen articles found through Google search ads appeared from the Harris campaign with edited headlines and descriptions.
