On Monday afternoon, Casey White and Vicky White, two people who gained national attention after staging an escape from an Alabama prison, were captured in Evansville, Indiana.
According to Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals and sheriff’s deputies “intercepted” the Whites after a short law enforcement chase on U.S. 41.
U.S. Marshals collided with the Whites’ vehicle in a grassy area, according to the Courier & Press.
The outlet reported that Vicky White shot herself after running from law enforcement, suffering serious injuries.
Casey White, the passenger, was injured in the crash, according to the Courier & Press. Both were transported to local hospitals.
Law enforcement will be providing more information at a news conference Tuesday, the outlet reported.
