ST. PETERSBURG, Fla – St. Petersburg residents and neighborhood organizations are invited to participate in CareFest, the annual community volunteering and donation initiative returning this fall from September 1st to October 31st.

The deadline for submitting project ideas is Thursday, August 1st.

Amy Foster, Housing and Neighborhood Services Administrator, emphasized the importance of CareFest in uniting neighbors to improve the community.

“CareFest embodies the spirit of St. Petersburg by bringing together neighbors to support one another and enhance our community. Each year, volunteers complete more than 400 projects in the Tampa Bay area – a testament to the dedication and generosity of our residents,” said Amy Foster, Housing and Neighborhood Services Administrator. “I urge residents to get involved.”

Homeowners are encouraged to submit projects related to yard work, pressure washing, painting, or repairs. Individuals and neighborhood associations can also submit ideas for neighborhood cleanups, donation drives, park beautification, and more.

Last year’s CareFest saw 13 donation drives, 33 private property projects, and 25 neighborhood improvements, including park cleanups that collected over 60 tons of trash.

To participate in CareFest this year, submit your project idea or find out how to give back by visiting stpete.org/CareFest.
