TAMPA, FL. – CareerSource Tampa Bay praises the recent signing of House Bill 1507, a law that creates the REACH Act of 2021.
The REACH Act or the Reimagining Education and Career Help Act is designed to strengthen performance, accountability, and further integration of Florida’s Workforce and education systems to better serve communities across the state.
“The CareerSource Florida Board of Directors applauds Governor DeSantis and legislative leaders for prioritizing alignment of the state’s education and workforce systems under the REACH Act, with its focus on equity and efficiency to achieve a stronger, more competitive Florida,” said CareerSource Florida President and CEO Michelle Dennard. “Enhancing the collaboration between the partners in Florida’s talent development pipeline helps ensure every Floridian has access to a quality education and the training needed to succeed in our ever-evolving economy.”
The REACH Act strengthens collaboration among agencies including CareerSource Tampa Bay, the state’s 24 local workforce development boards, the Department of Economic Opportunity, and the Department of Education to ensure a no-wrong-door response to the needs of Floridians seeking employment and training assistance.

The REACH Act strengthens the goals of the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The Act brings new momentum and a renewed urgency to Florida’s continuing efforts to improve, strengthen and further unify its broader workforce development ecosystem around shared goals and outcomes.
