TAMPA, Fla. – CareerSource Tampa Bay’s (CSTB) summer jobs program called Tampa Bay Summer Hires invites young adults 15 to 24 to register for summer leadership and employment training opportunities.

Registration is now open to Hillsborough County youth ages 15 to 24. This year, CSTB lowered the age from 16 to 15 to allow younger adults more opportunities to participate in the program.

Tampa Bay Summer Hires plans on serving youth who are seeking opportunities to develop leadership skills and participate in hands-on job training. Since the implementation of our inaugural year in 2019, CSTB has served more than 3000 youth, with more than 300 employers participating in the program.

“Our Summer Hires initiative not only bolsters the local economy by offering Hillsborough County employers cost-free access to emerging talent but also fills crucial vacancies while providing invaluable work experience for young adults,” said Michelle Zieziula, Chief Operating Officer at CareerSource Tampa Bay. “The program provides a great start into the ‘world of work’ and the opportunities available in Hillsborough County.”

The program serves low-income, underserved youth or youth with a barrier to employment. Income requirements apply and vary based on specific grant funding requirements, but all interested youth are encouraged to apply.

Young adults are required to complete an online application at the following website: www.TampaBaySummerHires.com.

Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, as funding is limited. Tampa Bay Summer Hires staff will contact applicants to review and discuss their applications and potential eligibility.
