PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County small business owner Troy Stevenson is running to succeed Pasco County District 2 Commissioner Mike Moore, who announced his retirement in February of this year.
Stevenson has been an active member of the Pasco County Community for over 20 years. For the past 16 years, Troy has been an active First Responder for NDMS (National Disaster Medical Services) and has served during Hurricane Katrina, Maria, SuperStorm Sandy, and various vaccination and relief efforts.
“Serving my community is a passion for me, whether it’s a response to a natural disaster, starting a school drive for our kids in Pasco, or building homes for the underprivileged,” said Stevenson.
According to his campaign, Stevenson is a dedicated family man who has been married to his wife Iris for over 27 years. He has three daughters and five grandchildren who are the absolute center of his life. All of his spare time centers around being involved with the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Stevenson’s community involvement runs deep, according to his campaign.
He is an active member of his church, Life Church in Wesley Chapel, serves on the board of directors of the Wesley Chapel Rotary and also the North Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce.
His support of numerous charitable organizations including the Lions Club, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Pasco County Sheriff’s Office’s Family Support Network, and Miracles Schools (a non-profit school for special needs kids) has garnered him multiple awards and recognitions, according to his campaign.
“I’ve worked and lived in Pasco for over 25 years. God has blessed me and my family and our passion is giving back,” said Stevenson.
Stevenson owns Acme on the Go, a LED Truck Fleet, that markets local business. He has donated his Trucks and Services to hundreds of community events, according to his campaign.
“Troy is a Conservative Republican with a strong sense of community and family values. He will bring his business acumen and entrepreneurial gifts to the County Commission,” according to his campaign. “He looks forward to serving the residents of Pasco County. He wants to help the county grow while balancing the need to protect the natural beauty of our area.”
On July 19, 2022, Stevenson was endorsed by the Florida Professional Firefighters.
“We commend you on your willingness to run and serve in public office, and because of that, the Florida Professional Firefighters wish to endorse and support your campaign for election to the Pasco County Commission, District 2,” the FPF said in a letter.
Stevenson is also endorsed locally by the Pasco Professional Firefighters.
Stevenson is joined in the race by fellow Republican candidates for District 2, Seth Weightman and Christie Zimmer.
