Red states perhaps should forget about the “refugees” President Joe Biden is allowing to stream unhindered across the border.

It’s the refugees from blue states fleeing the failed policies they supported but want to bring with them that they must worry about, as a butcher in Tennessee is learning.

WZTV, the Fox affiliate in Nashville, reported earlier this week that a beloved local East Nashville butcher is being sued because a woman who lives near the business “can’t stand the smell of grilled meat.”

Another outlet reported that the plaintiff is a newcomer from California who began labeling the business a “nuisance” roughly three years ago.

The Roy family, which owns Roy’s Meat Service, and which has operated small businesses in the community for nearly 80 years, was sued in January 2023 because of their operations.

The butcher is making news now because the family seeks help from friends and customers, WZTV reported. A GoFundMe Page for the company says the family has rung up more than $20,000 in legal fees fighting the complaint, first filed in June 2021.

The good news is that the GoFundMe account has raised about $28,000 so far.

“People in this neighborhood say RMS is one of the only true local spots left in East Nashville, so they are hoping to save it,” the TV station reported.

According to the entry on the GoFundMe page, Roy Meat Service’s “new neighbor” labeled the business a “nuisance” because of the smell of meat cooking.

As of now, 46 complaints have been filed against the butcher to city and state agencies. “The complaints include ‘concerns’ about the establishment’s fencing, lightning, ‘junk’ on the store’s property, and even the store front’s sign,” the GoFundMe account states.

The conservative website BizPacReview reported that the plaintiff, Natalie Castillo, is a transplant from California.

In response to the WZTV report, conservative activist Robby Starbuck defended the butcher on X.

“Some great people have moved to TN in recent years. You are not one of them. You left CA but what made CA fail LIVES IN YOU. It’s an ideology and we don’t want it here in TN,” he posted on Wednesday.

“The narcissism in your ideology blinds you to the reality that people like you ruined California. So you fled probably with the thought that none of CA’s failures were your fault. They are your fault or at least the fault of voters like you.”

“Parasites look for a new bountiful host to bleed dry when another can’t sustain them any longer. Voters like you do the same thing. I bet TN looked sweet to your parasitic mind,” Starbuck continued.

“What makes our state so attractive from the beautiful landscapes, the culture, the southern charm, the kindness, the economy, the low taxes and the moral backbone that we’ve shown is only possible through rejecting the ideology that lives inside of you.”

“People like you will never control the future of Tennessee and not because you weren’t born here,” he continued. “California and its failures run through your veins. Every fiber of your being seems to wholly reject what makes our state so attractive to so many people.”

“Go home. California is where you belong. You deserve to see it fail up close and personal so you can see what your ideology does to a once great place,” Starbuck concluded.

“We will protect TN like an anti-parasitic to guard against the destruction voters like you wrought upon states like California, New York, and Illinois. Tennesseans will not let TN turn into CA. That’s a promise.”

One commenter on WZTV’s website added, “Entice the Liberals from California to move here and guess what, you have to deal with people from California trying to push their California ideas on everyone. This is nothing, they keep coming and it gets worse.”
