California Teacher Posts Video Of Her Coming Out To 4th-Grade Class As Trans, Critics Say This Is Exactly What DeSantis, Republicans Are Fighting To Prohibit

As liberals denounce Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and GOP state lawmakers for allegedly “bullying” children by preventing their teachers from talking sex in the classroom, the teachers themselves validate why DeSantis and the lawmakers are right.

On Thursday, the Twitter account Libs of Tik Tok posted a video of a fourth-grade teacher coming out as “trans” to her class. The teacher got into the discussion to explain why she used “Mx” (or “mix”) as her title.

In response to questions, she tells the class she is “kinda not a guy and not a girl, like somewhere in between” being a male or a female. In response to one confused child’s question, she replies, “I’m actually trans, so I’m not a tomboy. I’m trans.”

Besides the content, the most stunning aspect of the video is that the teacher recorded herself offering this explanation.

Among the reactions to the video was a comment by conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey, who tweeted, “There is absolutely no reason for a teacher to ‘come out’ to their students. This is the kind of inappropriate, creepy behavior that should absolutely be banned.”

Which is what Florida seeks to do.

On DeSantis’ desk awaiting his signature is the Parental Rights in Education bill, which would ban schools districts from implementing lessons about sexual orientation and gender identity in grades kindergarten through three.

The bill also says such topics may be broached in older grades but must do so in an age-appropriate way and in accordance with state education standards.

Critics have misleadingly dubbed the bill “Don’t Say Gay,” which has proven to be an effective bumper slogan attack on the measure. Earlier this week, the Daily Wire released a poll about the bill and found that 45 percent of Democrats surveyed believed the bill actually prohibited people from saying the word “gay” in schools.

The brief video posed by Libs of Tik Tok undermined that argument and illustrated the point made by DeSantis and other Republicans.

The teacher in the video does not say the word “gay,” yet is able to launch a bewildering discussion of gender orientation to a class of naive fourth-graders.

As one Twitter user responded to Libs of Tik Tok: “Can you imagine an hour lesson plan of this for 5-year-olds. That’s the fight that’s going on in Florida.”

The following video has nothing to do with this story, other than this is a teacher:
