Left-wing Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell is calling for one of former President Donald Trump’s top allies, Roger Stone, to be prosecuted for allegedly calling for his murder.

The liberal outlet Mediaite claimed last week that it obtained an audio recording of Stone, the self-proclaimed bad boy of GOP political operatives, urging a New York cop to kill Swalwell, a California Democrat once suspected of having an affair with a Chinese spy, or Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York.

Both Swalwell and Nadler are prominent critics of Trump.

“It’s time to do it. Let’s go find Swalwell. It’s time to do it. Then we’ll see how brave the rest of them are. It’s time to do it,” Stone allegedly told Sal Greco, an NYPD officer who did security work for Stone.

“It’s either Swalwell or Nadler has to die before the [2020] election. They need to get the message. Let’s go find Swalwell and get this over with. I’m just not putting up with this s–t anymore,” Stone allegedly added to Greco.

The conversation supposedly occurred at Caffe Europa in Fort Lauderdale shortly before the 2020 election.

Stone denied making the comments to Mediaite, calling the recording a product of “deep fakes” generated by artificial intelligence.

“Total nonsense. I’ve never said anything of the kind. More AI manipulation,” he told Mediaite last week.

“You asked me to respond to audios that you don’t let me hear, and you don’t identify a source for. Absurd.”

Greco told Mediaite that he didn’t think Mediate’s readers would be “interested in ancient political fodder.”

Despite that, however, Swalwell called for prosecutors to go after Stone.

On Friday, the left-wing website The Guardian reported that Swalwell told Scripps News that he “absolutely” believed the Justice Department should pursue a case against Stone.

“Yes, I absolutely do,” Swalwell replied when asked if he wanted Stone prosecuted. “I know [the] aim [of the threat] is to not just threaten and in this case take a specific action, but its aim is to silence Donald Trump’s critics.”

Swalwell added, “The message I send to Roger Stone is: ‘I’m not going away.’ We’re not going to be intimidated. We must be a country where we settle our scores not with violence, but with voting.”

In response, Stone’s lawyer, David Schoen, reiterated to The Guardian that the recording was highly likely “AI-generated.”

“I’m sure that if he said it, that he didn’t mean literally those words. He doesn’t speak that way. He’s got zero history of violence, ever. I know him pretty well, and I think it’s an absolutely crazy charge,” he said.
