Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) San Francisco removed a Mexican national wanted in his home country on June 27th for illegal possession of firearms and drugs with intent to distribute.
The individual, identified as Eduardo Jacob Cuencas Vivar, 41, departed the United States via ground transportation and was transferred to the proper authorities upon arrival at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in Mexico.
Cuencas’s case highlights the challenges of repeat immigration offenders. Public records show Border Patrol initially apprehended Cuencas in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, on July 17th, 2019, for being in the country illegally.

He was issued an expedited removal order and returned to Mexico that same day.
However, Cuencas managed to re-enter the United States at an unknown date and location without going through the proper immigration channels.
ERO San Francisco later located and arrested him in Madera, California on April 24th of this year. He remained in ICE custody until his removal.
Members of the public who have information about foreign fugitives should contact ICE by calling the ICE Tip Line at 866-347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. They can also file a tip online by completing ICE’s online tip form.
