TAMPA, FL. – Buddy Brew Coffee has struck a distribution agreement with Greensboro, N.C.,-based retail grocery chain The Fresh Market, Inc.
Starting this month, The Fresh Market will carry four of Buddy Brew’s top-selling whole bean coffees in all 159 Fresh Market stores in 22 states, including 47 locations in Florida. They are: Postcard Roast, Organic Guatemalan, Cubano Espresso and Black Lab.
The agreement represents the family-owned roastery’s largest geographic footprint to date. Buddy Brew has eight cafés in the Tampa Bay area and a booming e-commerce and wholesale business, including distribution in Florida’s Whole Foods stores and select Publix stores. The Fresh Market stores will be among the first to offer Buddy Brew’s newly redesigned retail bag for whole bean coffee.
“Our ‘Brew Good, Do Good’ mission aligns with The Fresh Market’s commitment to quality and excellence, so it’s a great match,” said Buddy Brew Coffee Co-founder and President Susan Ward. “We have people from all over the country who visit our cafes and love our coffee. We couldn’t be more pleased that now they’ll be able to find our most popular roasts at any Fresh Market store.”
Buddy Brew’s “Brew Good, Do Good” mission represents the company’s people-first focus. All coffees are sourced ethically and sustainably through small-lot farmers and women-owned co-ops, paying highly equitable prices so farmers can thrive. The company gives back to multiple local and global causes, including reforestation projects in East Africa and the support of foster children and victims of human trafficking in Florida.
On Sept. 30, the Tampa Chamber named Buddy Brew Coffee Small Business of the year at its 41st Annual Small Business of the Year Awards gala.
