TAMPA, Fla. – Two brothers, Alonzo Deanthony Tucker-Wyche, 27, of Tallahassee, and De’quan Davion Wyche, 24, of Riverview, have been charged with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, robbery, and use of a firearm during the commission of the crimes.

If convicted on all counts, both defendants face a minimum of 20 years to life in federal prison.

October 27, 2024:
At approximately 5:30 a.m., a silver vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a Tampa convenience store. According to court documents, Tucker-Wyche exited the vehicle while Wyche remained behind the wheel. Inside the store, Tucker-Wyche allegedly brandished an AR-15 firearm, pointing it at the clerk, who fled through the back door. Tucker-Wyche chased the clerk briefly but was unable to catch him. He then returned to the front of the store, removed the cash register drawer, and fled to the waiting vehicle.

Detectives later discovered that the silver vehicle had also visited a gas station roughly two miles from the convenience store. Surveillance footage revealed similar behavior: the vehicle backed into a parking spot, Tucker-Wyche exited, and attempted to enter the locked gas station door before leaving the scene.

November 5, 2024:
At approximately 8:00 p.m., a silver vehicle matching the one from the first robbery arrived at a Tampa retail store. Tucker-Wyche allegedly exited the passenger side, entered the store, and pointed a firearm at the clerk, demanding she open the cash register.

When the clerk, who was on her phone, did not immediately respond, Tucker-Wyche reportedly grabbed her phone, threw it to the ground, and removed the entire cash register drawer before fleeing back to the vehicle.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol, conducted the investigation that led to the indictment. Surveillance footage and evidence linked the suspects to the string of armed robberies.
