BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A tragic single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a 55-year-old Brooksville woman early Tuesday morning on Croom Road, east of Weatherly Road.
According to authorities, the woman was driving a Chevy pickup eastbound on Croom Road when she failed to navigate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle veered off the road, striking a fence and then colliding with a tree.

Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene due to fatal injuries sustained in the crash. No other vehicles or individuals were involved.
