Brooksville Teen Goes Ballistic Over Grocery Store Dispute, Charged With Attempted Murder

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A 17-year-old Brooksville resident has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at a woman in the parking lot of a local grocery store.

The incident occurred on February 17, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the Super Saver Food Store in South Brooksville. According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, the female victim intervened in an argument between the suspect, Domnic Delaine, and a store clerk.

Delaine allegedly responded by brandishing a firearm and threatening to “air the place out.”

The victim told deputies that Delaine then made several threats to shoot her. Fearing for her safety, she left the store and got into her vehicle.

As she was driving away, Delaine allegedly chased after her on foot and fired several shots at her vehicle. One of the bullets struck the rear driver’s side window, shattering it.

The entire incident was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras, providing evidence for the investigation.

Detectives established probable cause to arrest Delaine on multiple charges, including:

  • Attempted Murder
  • Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle
  • Discharging a Firearm in Public
  • Delinquent in Possession of a Firearm
  • Felony Criminal Mischief

With assistance from the U.S. Marshal Task Force, Delaine was located and arrested on February 24, 2025, at a residence in Brooksville. He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center and then transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice facility in Ocala.

Due to the severity of the crime and Delaine’s previous criminal history, the State Attorney’s Office intends to charge him as an adult.
