HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – Jason Lamonte Dean, a registered sexual predator of Brooksville, has been sentenced to 8 years, 8 months, and 8 days in prison for failing to comply with reporting requirements.
Dean’s sentence stems from his April 2024 arrest, where he was found to be in possession of two unreported smartphones, a phone number, a social media account, and an email address – all violations of his probation terms.

At the time of his arrest, Dean was already on probation for a previous failure to re-register as a sexual predator. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was alerted to the violations by the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office.

Dean was arrested without incident and charged with multiple counts related to his failure to report required information. He was held without bond at the Hernando County Detention Center until his recent sentencing.
The HCSO encourages anyone with information on this case to contact Hernando County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-866-990-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward up to $5,000.
