BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A fire erupted in a mobile home on Jayson Drive in Brooksville on Saturday evening, November 9th.

Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to the blaze shortly after 7:30 PM. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames engulfing the double-wide mobile home. A rapid response and aggressive firefighting tactics were employed to bring the fire under control.

Fortunately, all occupants were able to escape the burning home safely. However, tragically, two dogs perished in the fire. No injuries were reported among firefighters.

The Red Cross is assisting the five displaced individuals affected by the fire. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
