Brooksville Man Killed In E-Bike Crash: Florida Highway Patrol

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old Brooksville man tragically lost his life after his electric bike collided with an SUV in Hernando County on Saturday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was riding southbound on the Nature Coast Trail around 8:35 p.m. when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign near Highfield Road.

A Chevy Trailblazer, driven by a 21-year-old Inverness man, was traveling westbound on Highfield Road and struck the e-bike.

The e-bike rider was transported to a local hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries. A female passenger on the e-bike also sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
