Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston apprehended a 23-year-old Brazilian fugitive, wanted in his home country for raping a vulnerable minor. Deportation officers arrested the man on July 23 near his residence in Framingham, Massachusetts.
U.S. Border Patrol initially detained the fugitive on July 12, 2023, after he unlawfully entered the United States near Lukeville, Arizona. He was subsequently issued a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge and was released on an order of recognizance on July 14, 2023.

Brazilian authorities are seeking the fugitive to face charges for the rape of a 13-year-old child, a crime that could result in up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
The fugitive remains in ERO custody following his arrest. ERO handles the removal of individuals without a lawful basis to remain in the United States, following decisions by immigration judges from the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review, which operates independently from the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
