BRANDON, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a fatal shooting Friday night in Brandon.
On Friday at 4:25 p.m., a call to 911 came in about a man who had been shot near the Advanced Auto Parts off of Highview Road and East Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard in Brandon.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Gregory Hornsby, 24, and an adult man who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

After an extensive investigation, detectives determined there was an altercation between Hornsby and the victim that led to the shooting. Hornsby was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail for booking.
He’s currently charged with the following:
- Murder in the First Degree Premeditated Firearm
- Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony with a Weapon
