Bradenton Woman Killed In I-4 Collison In Polk County, Palmetto Man Seriously Injured

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old woman from Bradenton tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 4 in Polk County on Sunday around 10:00 pm.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a Toyota 4Runner westbound in the center lane of I-4. A Ford F550, driven by a 41-year-old Altamonte Springs man, was traveling in the adjacent outside lane.

Near Milepost 34, the Toyota 4Runner moved into the outside lane and collided with the Ford F550. The impact caused the 4Runner to veer left, then back across the highway, before overturning and striking the Exit 33 road sign. The Ford F550 managed to come to a controlled stop.

Sadly, the driver of the 4Runner was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year-old Palmetto man who was a passenger in the 4Runner sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Ford F550 was unharmed.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
