BRADENTON, Fla. – A federal jury has convicted Andre Adams Jr., a 43-year-old resident of Bradenton, on multiple charges related to drug trafficking and firearm possession.
United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced the verdict following a trial in Tampa.
Adams was found guilty of possessing significant quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl with the intent to distribute. Additionally, he was convicted of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and as a felon, possessing firearms and ammunition.

Evidence presented during the trial revealed that on August 4, 2022, law enforcement discovered a large cache of drugs, including 500 grams or more of cocaine, 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, and 40 grams or more of fentanyl, at Adams’ residence.
The search also uncovered three firearms, including an AK-47 rifle, and a substantial amount of ammunition. Adams’ criminal history, which includes a prior conviction for cocaine trafficking, prohibits him from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.

The conviction carries severe penalties, with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of forty years in federal prison. Adams’ sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2024.
