DAVENPORT, Fla. – A Bradenton man is facing charges after a violent attempt to break into a Davenport residence early Wednesday morning.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies responded to a disturbance call at a home in the Champions Chase neighborhood, off Ronald Reagan Parkway, around 3:53 a.m. on March 19th.
The resident reported to 911 dispatchers that an individual was violently pounding and kicking on his door, demanding entry and making death threats. The force of the blows caused damage to the door frame and dented the door.

Upon arrival, deputies found the suspect still at the scene and detained him. He was identified as 27-year-old Derek Pardue of Bradenton.
Pardue, who reportedly blamed his actions on intoxication, was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail. He has been charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
