Bomb Squad And Tampa Fire Rescue Hazmat Working Scene After Truck Crashes Into House

Tampa, Fla. – The bomb squad and a hazmat crew were called to a Tampa home Tuesday morning after police say a truck drove into the house.

Police say just before 11 a.m., emergency crews were called to the 4600 block of West Pearl Ave. regarding a vehicle into a house.

Upon arrival, police discovered the driver drove his truck into his house. As the driver was taken into custody, he made statements of having dangerous chemicals inside the home.

A perimeter was established and hazmat crews and the bomb squad were called to the scene. The area was evacuated and road closures are currently in place while crews inspect the home.

Pearl Ave. between S. Renellie Dr. and S. Hesperides St. is closed, along with S. Trask St. between W. Paxton Ave and W. Rogers Ave.

The bomb squad and Tampa Fire Rescue hazmat are on scene.
