BLM Critic In Hawaii Continues To Thwart Efforts To Police His Speech

A defiant driver in Honolulu continues to taunt liberals by refusing to give up his vanity license plate that clearly announces his opposition to Black Lives Matter.

Last August a TV news operation in Hawaii’s capital, KITV, tried to shame the unidentified driver of a Pontiac Firebird for sporting a license plate that reads “FCKBLM.”

A reporter from the station said he was alerted by a reader who saw the plate. He then tweeted “Racism on the road?” and confirmed the “offensive” plate was legitimate.

The Blaze reported on Sunday that in Hawaii vanity license plates containing the abbreviations “FCK” and “FKN” are forbidden.

The Honolulu government told KITV that the plate snuck through because of “ill-advised oversight during the review process.”

The government also told KITV’s reporter that the plate was being recalled and the owner was directed to turn it in.

Yet 10 months later, the driver has yet to do so, despite three warning letters demanding the plate’s surrender. The Blaze noted that the owner continues to drive the streets even though his registration is expired.

As KITV’s reporter tweeted on Friday, “Racism on Hawaii roads: Nearly a year after this ‘FCKBLM’ license plate was recalled after our initial story, the owner is still refusing to surrender the plates after multiple warnings, and registration is now expired and police are free to cite him.

Police said they cannot go onto private property to seize the plate – even though one liberal demands they do so.

The website Motor Biscuit quoted Ken Lawson, a black law professor at the University of Hawaii-Manoa.

“If you claim to be the Aloha State, then do something about it,” Lawson reportedly told the city.

“The fact that you didn’t do anything may be more proof that his license plate may be correct that our lives don’t matter, that our feelings don’t matter, that these types of things can be publicly done.”

A hold has been issued for the plate, meaning it cannot be renewed.

The Blaze noted that the driver has another message to his critics, affixed to his back window: “Trump 2024 Because F*** You.”
