Big Pine Key Man Threatens Witnesses With Gun During Domestic Dispute: Monroe County Sheriff

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 44-year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon after allegedly pointing a handgun at two witnesses who intervened in a domestic dispute.

The incident occurred around 2:54 p.m. on Sands Road. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a couple witnessed a woman attempting to flee from Randall Bruce Lillard.

When the woman escaped, Lillard reportedly entered a residence, retrieved a handgun, and then pointed it at the two witnesses.

Lillard pulled the trigger, but the gun malfunctioned and did not fire.

Deputies responded to the scene and quickly apprehended Lillard. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping/false imprisonment, and domestic battery.
