MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A Big Pine Key man was arrested Friday evening after fleeing from Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies on U.S. 1.
22-year-old Nicholas Anthony Galdi was charged with DUI and resisting arrest.
Deputies observed Galdi driving a Ford pickup truck erratically near Mile Marker 25 around 8:15 PM. When they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Galdi sped off at a high rate of speed. He eventually stopped near Mile Marker 26 but refused to exit his vehicle.

Deputies ultimately took Galdi into custody and transported him to the Monroe County jail.
