Last week, President Joe Biden demanded a sit-down with high-ranking Israeli officials to discuss a possible invasion of Rafah, Hamas’ last major stronghold in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed, even after Biden praised a speech by Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, urged Israelis to hold an election to toss Netanyahu out as his nation continues to wage war on the terrorist group.
But Netanyahu essentially told Biden to pound sand on Monday after the U.S. failed to veto a United Nations resolution calling for a ceasefire.

That decision was driven by the U.N. Security Council unanimously adopting a proposal that, as Axios reported, “demands an immediate ceasefire for the month of Ramadan respected by all parties leading to a permanent sustainable ceasefire, and also demands the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.”
The U.S. opted to abstain from the final vote, instead of vetoing it.
Not only did the resolution demand a ceasefire as Israel sets the stage for a final push to destroy Hamas in Rafah, it pressed for respecting the Muslim holiday of Ramadan – even though Hamas attacked Israel and killed more than 1,200 Jews, including at least 32 Americans, during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, an annual celebration of the Torah, which is known to Christians as the first five books of the Bible.

In response to the Biden administration’s failure to block the resolution, Netanyahu, according to a statement from his office, called the vote a reflection of Washington’s “clear retreat” from its previous position, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
“In light of the change in the American position, Prime Minister Netanyahu decided the delegation would not leave,” Netanyahu’s office added.
