HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. –A man who tried to rob a Sun City Center bank in broad daylight has been apprehended by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Jesus Mendoza, Jr., entered the Cadence Bank on Tuesday afternoon and handed a teller a note demanding money.
Despite his unusual attempt to disguise himself by painting his face, Mendoza was quickly identified and arrested on Thursday. He now faces robbery charges.

To those who seek to interfere with our community’s safety, we will find you and make sure you face the consequences.”
