Iraqi Security Forces (ISF), with support from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces, conducted a successful airstrike near Rawa, Iraq, on February 12th, killing five ISIS operatives.
The airstrike targeted a location where the ISIS operatives were gathered. A post-strike assessment confirmed the deaths of the five operatives and the destruction of various weapons, including medium and small-caliber weapons, grenades, suicide explosive belts, and ammunition.

This operation is part of the ongoing Defeat-ISIS campaign, a collaborative effort aimed at disrupting ISIS networks, degrading their capabilities, and ensuring the lasting defeat of the terrorist group.
The Coalition Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CTF-OIR) provided essential support to the ISF during the operation, including technical expertise and intelligence.

Despite significant losses in recent years, ISIS remains a persistent threat in the region and beyond. CENTCOM, along with its partners and allies, remains dedicated to aggressively pursuing and neutralizing ISIS terrorists to prevent their resurgence and protect communities from their harmful ideology.
