According to authorities, the suspect, Caleb Jones, 46, had barricaded himself inside the residence. Deputies, with the assistance of a neighbor, were able to secure the scene and provide aid to the victims until EMS could arrive.

The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the State Highway Patrol were called in to apprehend Jones. He was eventually taken into custody without incident and transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.
