MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Monroe County Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested one suspect and are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a second individual involved in the theft of approximately $15,000 worth of lottery tickets in the Lower Keys.

The stolen tickets yielded approximately $8,000 in winnings.

Jorge Acevedo Perez, 47, of Big Coppitt Key, Florida, was arrested and charged last month with grand theft and conspiracy.

Detectives determined that Acevedo Perez conspired with co-defendant Dave Dackens Pluviose, 20, of Key West, Florida, to steal the lottery tickets from the Circle K located at 451 Overseas Highway.

Security video footage reportedly shows Pluviose, a former Circle K employee, handing large quantities of lottery tickets to Acevedo Perez without charging him. Subsequent security video from a supermarket shows both men cashing some of the lottery tickets together.
