POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 41-year-old Auburndale woman, Christdon Reese, has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, trespassing, and violation of probation after intentionally striking another woman with her vehicle. The incident stemmed from Reese seeing the victim walking with her estranged husband.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), the incident occurred on April 10, 2025, near the Circle K store located at 4950 U.S. Hwy 92 East in Auburndale. The victim and Reese’s estranged husband had just left the store and were walking across Old Dixie Hwy when they were spotted by Reese, who was driving a white Volkswagen Jetta.

Witnesses reported that Reese, after seeing the pair, executed a U-turn in the parking lot of a nearby Family Dollar store and accelerated toward them. The victim attempted to flee by running down a residential driveway, but Reese pursued her, striking her with the vehicle. Reese then fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
Circle K’s surveillance footage corroborated the witness accounts, showing Reese making the U-turn and heading back toward the victim.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by Polk County Fire Rescue, where X-rays revealed two spinal fractures. She is expected to recover from her injuries. The resident of the driveway where the victim was struck confirmed to deputies that Reese did not have permission to be on their property, leading to the trespassing charge.
PCSO detectives obtained a warrant for Reese’s arrest on April 10, 2025, charging her with attempted first-degree murder (F1), trespassing (M1), and violation of probation (M2). The following morning, April 11, detectives located Reese on Tower Manor Circle East and took her into custody. She was booked into the Polk County Jail.
Sheriff Grady Judd expressed his concern regarding the incident, stating, “Domestic related calls are some of the worst calls to which we respond. When people allow their emotions to take over it can result in injury or even death. This victim was injured but luckily she survived the ordeal. Christdon Reese needs to learn how to control her temper, and maybe some cooling off in the jail will help.”
Authorities also discovered that Reese was on probation for a retail theft charge in Osceola County since 2023, resulting in the additional charge of violation of probation.
