As Carlson Attacks J6 Narrative, Democratic Lawmaker On J6 Committee Backpedals From The Revelations

Led by the Senate’s top Democrat who openly called for censoring the news media, America’s political left is in a full-bore meltdown as Fox News host Tucker Carlson shows the public another side of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Led by the Senate’s top Democrat who openly called for censoring the news media, America’s political left is in a full-bore meltdown as Fox News host Tucker Carlson shows the public another side of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

But the cable TV audience is eating it up.

The left-wing media website Mediaite reported this week that nearly 4.2 million people watched Carlson’s opening broadcast of the release of previously unseen J6 footage.

The clips emerged from a trove of more than 40,000 hours of security camera footage provided to Carlson by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

During the same time slot on Monday, Carlson roughly tripled the audience pulled in by MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and gathered seven times the viewers of CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Conservative journalist Stephen L. Miller quipped about the response, tweeting, “Thanks Chuck Schumer!”

That referred to New York Democratic Sen. Schumer’s call from the Senate floor on Tuesday for Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch to prohibit Carlson from showing any more of the footage.

But while Carlson has flipped the J6 narrative, Democrats are now looking for an alternative.

As the conservative website Twitchy.com noted, that means backpedaling.

Twitchy reported on Thursday that as Carlson now destroys “many of the lame, hateful narratives from the Left,” Mississippi Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson, chairman of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked J6 special committee, claimed the lawmakers on the panel did not have access to the footage Carlson is using.

Ironically, that’s because Pelosi prohibited it.

“It’s strictly a new policy that the new speaker [McCarthy] has put in place,” said Thompson, an admission shared on Twitter by CNN reporter Alayna Treene.

“I’m actually not aware of any member of the committee who had access. We had a team of employees who kind of went through the video.”

So the question is: Did Thompson and the others, including alleged Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, not have access to the video, or did they not request access to it so they could get the full picture Carlson is laying out?

As Twitchy observed, “They just had a bunch of staff go through it. “Can’t even make this crap up.”

“It must be REALLY bad for Thompson to feign ignorance. Either he’s lying or they really did a disservice to these hearings, the American people, and this country.”

In response to Treene’s tweet, one Twitter user added, “Benny, Benny, Benny, ‘the dog ate my homework’ might work better.”
