Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) Tuesday sent a strongly worded letter to President Joe Biden, condemning the administration’s ongoing delays in delivering critical weapons to Israel amid its ongoing conflict.
Cotton accused the administration of undermining its ally despite public declarations of unwavering support, asserting that the delays have weakened Israel, emboldened Iran, and damaged America’s credibility on the global stage.

In his letter, Cotton outlined specific instances where the Biden administration has allegedly withheld or delayed weapons shipments critical to Israel’s defense, including:
- Thousands of MK-83 warheads and guidance kits.
- MK-82 guidance kits.
- AGM-114 Hellfire-2 Missiles.
- D-9 bulldozers used for bomb-clearing operations.
- Priority access to Apache helicopters.
“You have the authority to fast-track all these weapons, as you demonstrated earlier in the war when you used congressionally authorized emergency procedures,” said Cotton. “Yet you’ve chosen to forgo these procedures now because the Israeli government hasn’t adopted your wartime philosophy of self-deterrence, half measures, and interminable delay.”
Cotton urged the president to take immediate action to fast-track weapons deliveries, highlighting that Congress has already appropriated funds for Israel’s defense. He also pointed to the recent U.S. presidential election results as a signal of public support for strong backing of Israel.
“You’re thwarting the will of Congress and ignoring the will of the American people,” Cotton wrote. “Your failed Middle East policy will come to an end either now or in two months, but it will end. The only real question is how many more Israelis will die because of your administration’s inexcusable scheming.”

The White House has not yet issued a statement in response to Cotton’s letter. However, the administration has previously defended its approach, stating that it is balancing Israel’s security needs with broader regional stability and humanitarian concerns.
This marks the fourth time Senator Cotton has addressed the issue in correspondence with the Biden administration, underscoring growing Republican frustration over what they perceive as insufficient support for Israel during a critical time in the Middle East.
