An Arizona woman is facing serious time after pleading guilty to hauling a massive load of cocaine from Tucson to Ohio. Andrea Celaya-Rodriguez, 28, was caught red-handed with 50 kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop on I-70 in Madison County.
This wasn’t your average road trip. Celaya-Rodriguez was driving a rented Penske box truck, and when Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers became suspicious, a drug-sniffing dog quickly confirmed their hunch. Hidden inside the truck, under a blanket in a produce bin, were three duffel bags stuffed with 50 individually wrapped kilos of cocaine.

Turns out, Celaya-Rodriguez was making the cross-country delivery for a cool $50,000, promised by a man she met in Mexico. She had even repackaged the cocaine, which was originally given to her in shoe boxes, for easier transport.
Celaya-Rodriguez faces a potential prison sentence of 33 to 41 months, but the final decision rests with the court. This bust highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and the dedication of law enforcement agencies to intercepting major drug shipments.
