A 47-year-old Mexican fugitive wanted for kidnapping and criminal association has been deported from Arizona to Mexico by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Jose Ramon Torres Cordova, sought by authorities in Hermosillo, Mexico, was removed from the United States on March 7th. ICE officials transported Torres from the Eloy Detention Center in Eloy to the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, where he was handed over to Mexican law enforcement.

“The return of this fugitive to Mexico is a prime example of how ICE works closely with our international law enforcement partners to identify, locate and remove criminal aliens who are wanted in their country,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Phoenix Field Office Director John Cantu. “ICE prioritizes the arrest and removal of criminal alien fugitives. As a result, Torres will finally face justice.”

Torres had a history of illegal entry into the United States. He first illegally entered the U.S. at an unknown location and time, leading to his removal in April 2019.

He was apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol attempting to re-enter the U.S. later that same month and was subsequently removed again in May 2019.

While in the United States illegally, Torres was also arrested for disorderly conduct and assault.
