Mackenzie Hurt, an Arizona child living with a rare muscle disorder, recently experienced a dream trip to Florida thanks to the Sunshine Foundation.

Mackenzie, who has Congenital Myopathy, was granted a Magical Dream by the foundation, which specializes in fulfilling the wishes of children with severe chronic illnesses and conditions.

The Hurt family enjoyed a memorable trip to the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village near Disney World, where they stayed in a pirate-themed cottage. They also visited the beach and experienced the magic of Walt Disney World.

“Our family is very grateful for the experience; it was the best trip ever. The Pirate cottage at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village was adorable, the beach was incredible, and Walt Disney World was magical! We had the best time and I appreciate everyone from the Sunshine Foundation staff, and to our donor, for making this dream trip possible,” said Mackenzie’s mom.

The Sunshine Foundation focuses on answering dreams for children who may be ineligible for wishes from other organizations that require a life-threatening or critical diagnosis. They rely on the generosity of donors to fulfill these dreams.
