HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Tampa man is facing a first-degree murder charge after a verbal altercation turned deadly early Sunday morning.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a stabbing at the Northgreen at Carrollwood Apartments around 2:20 a.m. on November 3rd. Upon arrival, deputies found 19-year-old Arnold Gutierrez suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators determined that Gutierrez had been involved in an argument with 24-year-old Michael Aldana, which escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Aldana allegedly stabbed Gutierrez multiple times.
Aldana was arrested and booked into the Orient Road Jail.
“Our hearts go out to the family of the young man whose life was ended in this senseless act of violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to our detectives’ hard work and dedication, the suspect is in custody. We are committed to ensuring that those who choose violence are held accountable.”
