Trump Jr. Says “Anheuser-Busch Totally S–t The Bed” But Calls For Easing Up On Bud Light

Over the past couple of weeks, many on the right were pounding Bud Light, but not to drink.

And just as it seems conservatives’ criticism of the beermaker for its partnership with a left-wing transgender activist, one prominent figure on the right wants to wave the white flag.

As The Washington Times reported on Saturday, Don Trump Jr. is urging fellow conservatives to back off the “iconic” beer brand.

“Anheuser-Busch totally s–t the bed with this Dylan Mulvaney thing. I’m not, though, for destroying an American, an iconic company for something like this,” Trump said Thursday on his podcast, “Triggered,” according to the Times.

“When I actually look into it, I’m not gonna blame the whole company for the inaction or the stupidity of someone in a marketing campaign that got woke as hell,” Trump added.

The former president’s son also noted that before its endorsement deal with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, a biological male who has spent the past year chronicling his journey into “girlhood,” Bud Light was popular with conservatives and supported candidates on the right.

“Frankly,” he said of Bud Light, “they don’t participate in the same woke garbage that other people in the beer industry actually do, who are significantly worse offenders when I looked into it.”

“But if they do this again, then it’s on them! Then, screw them.”

Trump’s comments came as the protests by conservatives — which included singer Kid Rock shooting up a pack of Bud Light and country music star Travis Tritt removing the beer’s sponsorship from his tour — were making a point.

The Times noted that just over the past week, AB InBev, Bud Light’s parent company, took a $6.6 billion hit on its share value.

That, and the backlash from Bud Light loyalists, led Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth to signal that the company was distancing itself from Mulvaney.

“I am responsible for ensuring every consumer feels proud of the beer we brew,” Whitworth said in a statement. “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people. We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.”

As The Free Press reported on Friday, top executives at Anheuser-Busch reportedly claimed they had no idea about the company’s ad campaign with Mulvaney and did not formally approve it.

Citing an anonymous source at Bud Light, The Daily Wire noted that the Mulvaney project seemed to be the work of a “low-level marketing staffer” who “must have thought it was no big deal.”
