HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – An ambulance transporting a 47-year-old Fort Myers woman crashed around 4:31 am on Sunday morning, injuring three.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, an AMBITRANS ambulance, was traveling northbound on I-75 near Milepost 260.
Troopers say the driver began to enter the 260B Exit Ramp, realized it was the incorrect exit, and attempted to re-enter the northbound travel lanes.

While crossing the exit gore, the ambulance struck a guardrail attenuator and overturned into the northbound lanes of I-75.
The driver, a 21-year-old Cape Coral man, suffered minor injuries, as did the paramedic in the rear of the ambulance who was caring for the Fort Myers woman who was being transported to an area hospital.
The woman also suffered minor injuries in the crash.
