A significant earthquake rattled Southern California Monday morning, with residents in Los Angeles and Orange counties reporting tremors felt as far north as the region.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported a preliminary magnitude of 5.2, with the epicenter located near Julian, a mountain town east of San Diego.
The USGS is continuing to analyze the data and refine the magnitude and location of the earthquake. As of now, there have been no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries.

In light of the earthquake, authorities are reminding residents of the importance of earthquake preparedness. Emergency management officials are urging individuals to ensure they have an emergency kit readily available.
