Attorney General Alan Wilson, along with a coalition of 18 states, has filed a brief with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in support of North Carolina’s laws restricting the use of abortion drugs.

The brief comes in response to a lawsuit filed by a doctor challenging the state’s regulations.

“I have always been proudly pro-life,” said Attorney General Wilson.

“But this case is also about upholding the law and state sovereignty. The U.S. Supreme Court recognized that states have the authority to regulate abortion when they overturned Roe v. Wade two years ago, and these are common-sense regulations that North Carolina passed,” said Wilson.

The coalition is urging the Court of Appeals to vacate the District Court’s injunction that currently blocks the enforcement of North Carolina’s abortion laws.
