Florida real estate agent, Sara-Michelle Trost, 40, was gunned down in cold blood outside of a property she was showing for a landlord in Coral Springs.
According to police, the gunman, Raymond Wesley Reese, 51, shot Trost multiple times as she sat outside of the home in the driver’s seat of her jeep.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a vehicle with one female occupant in the driver’s seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite immediate medical treatment, Trost succumbed to her injuries on the scene and was pronounced dead.
Donna Smith, who lives in the area spoke with Local 10 and said, “There was a disgruntled tenant who was evicted. He thought that the realtor, who was showing the home, he thought it was the owner of the house, and she was ambushed. She was sitting in her car.”
That tenant was Raymond Wesley Reese, who fired into the Jeep, killing Trost.
Trost owned a discount real estate brokerage firm called 1% Lists SoFlo, in Coral Springs, Florida.
On Thursday, hours before being gunned down, Trost posted on her business Facebook page, “Is it a crazy time for real estate? YES!But even so, just when you think it will “slow down for the holidays”… errrrm… NO!I listed this stunner on a Monday (not my usual thing) thinking it will be so quiet…. totally wrong!Just goes to show… never underestimate the power of a gorgeous home in a low-supply and high-demand area! Congrats to the lucky buyer!
Trost was a volunteer at Paw Patrol Animal Rescue & Sanctuary and fostered animals from the sanctuary.
“Our heart goes out to Sara Michelle, her daughter, her husband Jason, and her whole family, her fur children, as well as her human child,” said Rachel Lucuara, of the Paw Patrol Animal Rescue & Sanctuary to Local 10.
Coral Springs Police Department detectives conducted an immediate investigation and detained Reese in connection with the shooting.
Reese was arrested in Boca Raton and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Trost and is being held with no bond.
