A Florida man accused of sexually battering a traveling nurse in her hotel room was arrested Thursday by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel Scott Young, 34, was charged with one count of sexual battery of a traveling nurse, according to an arrest report.
The battery occurred on November 7, when Young and the woman were at a Gainesville bar and were introduced by her co-worker, according to the report.
Young asked for a ride to her hotel, telling her it was closer to his home and would help with the cost of his Uber ride.
Police say when they arrived at the hotel, Young asked the woman to use the bathroom, but when he came out of the bathroom, he reportedly sexually battered the woman.
According to the report, Young forcefully removed the woman’s clothes and penetrated her. Police say he put the woman’s underwear in her mouth at one point because he said she was “Getting too loud.”
Security surveillance shows the man leaving the hotel after the alleged battery and getting into the back of a Uber ride.
The woman was treated at a local hospital with injuries consistent with her story.
Young denied harming the woman and told police that while he did expect to have sex with the woman, she had stated that she doesn’t do that on the first date.
Young was arrested and transported to the Alachua County Jail on $100,000 bail.
