TAMPA, FL. – The northbound I-275 ramp (Exit 49) to Bird Street and the southbound I-275 ramp (Exit 50) to Busch Boulevard are closing Monday, November 1 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, weather permitting.
These temporary closures are necessary as part of the wrong-way detection device installation project on interstate ramps in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
During these closures, northbound I-275 motorists traveling to Bird Street (Exit 49) or southbound I-275 motorists traveling to Busch Boulevard (Exit 50) will follow the posted detours below:
Detour for Bird Street: Use Exit 48, continue east on Sligh Avenue, north on Nebraska Avenue towards Birds Street.
Detour for Busch Boulevard: Use Exit 51, continue west on Fowler Avenue, south on Florida Avenue towards Busch Boulevard.
Electronic message boards and detour signs will assist motorists traveling through this area. Motorists should expect delays and congestion during these detours.
