In Response To Texas Abortion Bill, Pennsylvania Dem Wants To “Snip” The Problem In The Bud

As Democrats alternately cry and seethe in anger over Texas’ new law to restrict abortions to about six weeks after conception, a radical lefty in Pennsylvania wants to go after the source of the issue – literally.

Democratic state Rep. Chris Rabb of Philadelphia recently posed a bill that forces men to undergo vasectomies.

Rabb announced the legislation and its outlines in a Twitter post on Saturday.

But he provided a fuller explanation of its rationale and purpose in a legislative memo, also submitted on Saturday, saying his intent is to “end this egregiously gendered double standard.”

“For far too long, the public debate around abortion, contraception, and related reproductive matters has thrust government into the center of restrictions on the bodily autonomy of women and girls,” Rabb wrote. “Rarely is there a meaningful dialogue around public policy focusing on the personal responsibility of cisgender men in this sphere.”

“The rights of cisgender men have always been paramount in our society with little focus on their responsibility as inseminators to change their behaviors for the good of their partners, families, and society at large,” he continued.

“As we head toward climax on this heated discourse around this delicate matter, we should come together to address it with surgical precision. We must also commit to mending the social fabric being sliced up by bitter acrimony.”

Rabb added, “In order to improve public health outcomes and release sweet justice into our households and bedrooms, we must wrap our love of individual liberty in the moral imperative of greater personal responsibility and acknowledge men’s essential role in procreation.”

He then explained that his bill would require “all inseminators” to undergo vasectomies within six weeks of having a third child or of their 40th birthday, whichever comes first.

Pennsylvanians also would be empowered to sue for unwanted pregnancies against fathers who “wrongfully” conceive a child with them.

Moreover, people could get a $10,000 reward by snitching to the authorities about those who fail to comply.

“As long as state legislatures continue to restrict the reproductive rights of cis women, trans men, and non-binary people, there should be laws that address the responsibility of men who impregnate them,” Rabb wrote. “Thus, my bill will also codify ‘wrongful conception’ to include when a person has demonstrated negligence toward preventing conception during intercourse.”

“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander!”

Rabb acknowledged that his bill was also in response to one filed in Illinois by state Rep. Kelly Cassidy, a Democrat, whose legislation would allow any state resident to sue someone who “causes an unintended pregnancy,” or commits domestic assault.

If successful, the plaintiff would receive $10,000. But it seems the victor would only get half since the other half would be directed into a state fund to pay for abortions for Texas women who can’t obtain them in the Lone Star State.
