GOP Senators Fight Effort By Biden Admin To Punish Troops Who Refuse To Get Vaxxed

COVID-19 has led the Biden administration and its state-level acolytes to declare war on America’s “heroes.”

Just a year ago, when COVID was at its worst, military personnel, first-responders, healthcare workers and school teachers were heralded as America’s front-line defense against the virus. Now, at the local, state and federal levels such workers are threatened with losing their jobs if they refuse the jab.

On Capitol Hill, a group of Republican lawmakers seeks to protect unvaccinated troops who object.

Led by GOP Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas, the lawmakers want to ensure soldiers who refuse a COVID-19 vaccine still receive an honorable discharge.

“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a member of the armed forces subject to discharge on the basis of the member choosing not to receive the COVID–19 vaccine may only receive an honorable discharge,’’ states the “COVID-19 Vaccine Dishonorable Discharge Prevention Act.”

“Reports of adverse actions being taken, or threatened, by military leadership at all levels are antithetical to our fundamental American values,” the two-page bill argues. “Any discharge other than honorable denotes a dereliction of duty or a failure to serve the United States and its people to the best of the ability of an individual.”

And those who receive a dishonorable discharge will suffer accordingly, Marshall noted.

With that, they forfeit the right to own guns or ammunition. They also lose benefits such as the GI Bill’s education funding, home loans, and medical benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs, funerals with full military honors, and the opportunity to re-enlist in another military branch.

“As a physician and veteran who is confident that the vaccine has saved countless lives, I believe vaccinating our service members against COVID-19 is an important effort; however, whether or not to receive the vaccine should be a personal choice between an individual and their doctor,” Marshall said in a statement.

“Servicemembers who refuse to get vaccinated, and are subsequently separated from the service, should not receive anything other than an honorable discharge. There is no question about it: American heroes should not be treated as felons because of their personal medical choices.”

Marshall was joined by GOP co-sponsors Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Jim Lankford of Oklahoma, and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.

In a statement, Cruz said, “It’s an insult to our servicemen and women who have served with honor to dishonorably discharge them for refusing the COVID vaccine. It is the same way we dishonorably discharge those convicted of serious crimes such as treason, desertion, sexual assault, and murder.”

“Forcing all service members, including pregnant women and those who have already had COVID-19, to receive the vaccine is just one more example of President [Joe] Biden and his administration putting politics ahead of science,” Cruz added.

“When America shut down last year, our military personnel continued to serve us at home and abroad,” Lankford said in a statement. “Now, Biden wants to remove service members who have already recovered from COVID, but will not also take the vaccine, or have a medical, religious or personal reason not to take the vaccine.”

“Our men and women in uniform have fought to protect the freedoms we enjoy, and it’s right for us to protect their freedom now to choose whether or not to get the vaccine,” he continued. “President Biden should not give our military members a ‘less than honorable’ or ‘dishonorable’ discharge from the military for a conscious objection to a vaccine after they have risked their lives for our country. ”

The administration seems intent on punishing those who decline to get vaxxed.

When Tuberville raised the issue with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during a hearing on Tuesday, Austin replied, “Taking the vaccine is a requirement, and again, I’ll just leave it at that.”

  1. Republicans typical limp d*** idea of fighting ^^^ Soldiers cant get a dishonorable, only an honorable discharge for not getting vaxxed…. How about maybe NO f****** discharge and upholding the god**** Nuremberg code and their right to choose? And then charging all the mandate proponents with crimes against humanity?
Oh that’s right. I forgot. How silly of me. Master Folders Chuck Grassley and that little Pansy F****t Linda Graham are on the Judiciary Committee. You’ll never get anything meaningful done there.

  2. Exactly, how about NOT kicking us out! Traitorous bastards are selling us down the river in live time!!!!

  3. The whole POINT of this is to make sure veterans and other Patriots CAN’T HAVE WEAPONS. Obvious.
